Spinal Decompression – Does It Work? – www.creekstonecare.com

Spinal Decompression

It’s Time To Change Everything!

First of all, our readers have to know that, here at Creek Stone, we have taken the extra steps to obtain continued training in spinal decompression by acheiving certification in the Kennedy Decompression Technique as well as training in the CRISP protocol which stands for Clear Reasoning In Spine Pain in addition to acheiving Advanced Certification in Whiplash & Traumatology. This extra training has made Dr. Williams and the Creek Stone Staff uniquely positioned to help you with your condition as we strive to be the best we can be!

Whew, now that that is out of the way……let’s address the question of whether spinal decompression works by referring to some really cool research done by a medical doctor names Edward Eyerman, MD.

Dr. Eyerman said in his paper, “Serial MRI of 20 patients treated with the decompression table shows in our study up to 90% reduction of subligamentous nucleus herniation in 10 of 14. Some rehydration occurs detected by T2 and proton density signal increase. Torn annulus repair is seen in all.”

What the heck does that mean?

  • It means that they had 20 patients with disc herniations and, in 10 of those patients, the disc herniation was 90% sucked back in! 90%!!
  • It means that some of the dehydrated discs were partially rehydrated.
  • And, coolest of all, it means that the crack in the disc that allowed the herniation to poke through was healed up in all 20 of the patients!!

Research is awesome!!

Here’s another one for spinal decompression by Dr. Norman Shealy, MD, PhD. About Spinal Decompression, Dr. Shealy said,“Eighty-six percent of ruptured intervertebral disc (RID) patients achieved ‘good’ (50-89% improvement) to ‘excellent’ (90-100% improvement) results with decompression. Sciatica and back pain were relieved.” “Of the facet arthrosis patients, 75% obtained ‘good’ to ‘excellent’ results with decompression.”

What the heck does that mean?

  • It means that 86% of the patients had good to excellent results after having gone through spinal decompression treatment.
  • The patients had back pain and sciatica pain were relieved from spinal decompression.
  • Out of those having spinal arthritis, 75% had good to excellent results from spinal decompression.

That’s HUGE!

Let’s go over a little bit of anatomy. I promise, we’ll keep it simple because nobody wants to feel like they are going to school. The bones in your back are called vertebrae and those vertebrae are separated by discs made of cartilage. The discs act like shock absorbers. The discs can get injured. The disc can become dehydrated and shrink. Either condition will cause pain, numbness or tingling to happen into the arms or legs.

Sometimes you’ll hear people refer to their leg pain as sciatica. But, what causes sciatica? Usually, it is a disc injury that is causing the symptom people commonly call sciatica.

When a disc gets injured or becomes dehydrated from age or abnormal movement in relation to the bones above and below, it can hurt bad. In fact, people can potentially become disabled and unable to work at all.

That is worst-case-scenario though. Typically, through the use of spinal decompression, we are able to simulate normal, healthy motion between the bones of the spine and can help reduce inflammation, reduce the size of the disc poking out, and rehydrate the disc somewhat.

The best part is that spinal decompression is safe, conservative, no surgery, and no medication at all. Not only that, but when you compare it to medical treatments for low back pain, it’s absolutely peanuts when we are talking about the cost of spinal
decompression.

Peanuts!!

Through the use of spinal decompression, we can traction the segments making more room for the nerves leaving the spinal cord and heading out to the arms and legs. It’s pretty amazing how effective it is.

Medical research has shown that spinal decompression can reduce disc bulges or disc herniation and spinal decompression can help rehydrate a dehydrated. All of this can help our patients with the following conditions:

  • Pain into the arms
  • Numbness into the arms
  • Tingling into the arms
  • Pain into the legs
  • Numbness into the legs
  • Tingling into the legs
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Spinal degeneration
  • Degenerative discs
  • Disc injury
  • Facet Arthropathy

We have seen spinal decompression absolutely change lives.

Watch these videos of our patients to hear from them personally about their experiences here at Creek Stone.

In the end, we are here for our patients because we want you to get better. Our responsibility is to give you the best recommendations based on experience and knowledge. Knowledge that the patient does not possess. We are here whichever way patients choose to use us.

A thousand times, Dr. Williams has said, “If you treat people right, if you treat people as you would treat your own family members, then finances tend to take care of themselves and we’ll never have to worry too much about that part of it.”

In addition to spinal decompression, we use cold laser therapy to enhance and speed up the healing process. Also known as low level laser, cold laser is backed by research, is FDA cleared, and is effective in healing the disc faster, decreasing the inflammation, and decreasing the pain resulting from a fired up disc issue.

Due to the addition of cold laser, we call our one-of-a-kind service Cold Laser-Enhanced Spinal Decompression and it is a powerful one-two punch.

In addition to everythign we have discussed, we have seen our patients cancel surgeries, we have seen our patients cancel spinal injections, and we have seen them cancel nerve blocks, and dangerous medications.

Because they came to us and tried Cold Laser-Enhanced Spinal Decompression.

If you are hurting, come talk to us. Consultations are free.

If you have been diagnosed with spinal arthritis, degeneration, disc bulges, disc herniations, or stenosis, come see us now. Chances are, we can help.
